Radial optics enables simultaneous welding of a quasi-radial symmetrical component. The laser beam forms a ring inside and is deflected via a tilted mirror at the end of the optic. Customer specific, the dimensioning technique of the optic can be optimized to the welding geometry.

The galvo scanner DL.S20 P is a fast 2-axis beam deflection unit needed for quasi - simultaneous welding of polymers with closed loop temperature control of the process. It allows fast positing of the laser focus in the working field without additional mechanical axes. The on-axis single color pyrometer provides non-contact temperature measurement of the welding zone. Used with the COMPACT Series, the unit is equipped with a fiber connector, collimating unit and supporting software which provides complete process data documentation for quality control.

The lenses image the laser spot to an even, 2-dimensional focal plane (within the specified working area) independent from the deflection angle of the Galvo Scanner. Ideal for plastic welding applications, this radial welding solution allows closed-loop quasi-simultaneous radial welding. It includes a programmable servo motor that rotates the laser beam (up to 300 rpm) and a pyrometer for closed-looped temperature control which results in a homogeneous temperature inside the welding seam.
